Welcome to the official web page of the sailing vessel Heart of Gold and her crew,  Thane and Tami. 

Navigating around this site will guide you through a few of the adventures that we have experienced while sailing Heart of Gold through some of the most beautiful and exciting areas in the United States and the Western Caribbean.

Enjoy a pictorial tour of our trip around the coast of the Gulf of Mexico from south Texas to Florida, continuing on to our blue water passage from Tampa, Florida to the magical island of  Isla Mujeres, Mexico, the on to Belize and Guatemala. 

We chronicle the voyage of Heart of Gold as we explore the land of the Mayan Indians.  Sail down the Yucatan coast of Mexico, through the gorgeous waters and colorful reefs of Belize and up the Rio Dulce river in Guatemala. 

Spend hurricane season with us as we enjoy the social life of the Rio Dulce and travel by chicken bus throughout the highlands of Guatemala and the lowland jungles of the Mayans.

Here's me ... working in the Marina store.  Barb is not really a customer, but my boss.  A cruiser that got stuck in Key West.  But what a better way to get stuck, she's the dockmaster and her husband plays steel drums in a band.  Check out the band's web page Mile Marker 24.
