and Joe Kratz have been liveaboards since 1997 in their 1987
Westerly Corsair II, a modified fin keel sloop named Rose of
Sharon. "We named her that because the original meaning
of 'Rose of Sharon' is 'perfect,' when read in context of one
of Jesus´quotes. When I saw that center cockpit and the Lloyds
of London inspection mount, I said, "She´s perfect!" | Cruising in the Comfort Zone Series: ..Texas to Florida ..Florida and Mexico ..Belize ..Guatemala Western Caribbean Cruising Series: ..Guatemala to Honduras ..Bay Island of Roatan ..Panama Cruising the Pacific Coast of Panama Series: ..Part 1: Bocas del Toro to the Bay of Portobelo. ..Part 2: Portobelo to Lemmon Cayes. ..Part 3: Road Trip. ..Part 4: Cruising the San Blas. ..Part 5: San Blas & Panama City. |

Don and Yvonne
sail on s/v Usquaebach a 40' Gulfstar Ketch. They left
the Chesapeake in Nov. of 2005 and took a 9 month sail to arrive
in their new home port in Jonesville Point, Roatan. They
are in the process of completing their house.
Yvonne says, "Between building, sailing, cruisers coming by
and friends flying in to visit they have busy days. The last
3 -1/2 years have flown by and most of it was wonderful!"
Don & Yvonne happily refer people who come to the Jonesville
area about what to see and where to go in and around Roatan
... Mangrove tours, Hole In The Wall, where to shop via dinghy,
where to get a dive boat, etc. They graciously take people
into town who need provision shopping, or to "check in" at Coxen
Hole. They have a truck and only ask that the cruiser
pay for the fuel. They monitor 72 from early am, Don is
up at 5:30am, till past dark, unless the weather is rough then
till they're tucked in our bunks. They also offer charters
aboard Usquaebach.
